NovaPath Coach is a mental fitness coaching app for iPhone. This policy explains what happens to what you write in it.

Everything you write in NovaPath Coach stays on your iPhone. We do not collect it, we never receive it, and it is not sent to any AI company. There is no account to create and no NovaPath Coach server — not one holding your content, and not one at all.

NovaPath Coach is not a medical service. It does not diagnose or treat any condition and is not a substitute for professional care.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no server to send anything to, no account system, and no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software of any kind. It contains no third-party SDKs.

So we cannot read your journal, we cannot see your goals or habits, we cannot read your coaching conversations, and we could not hand any of it to anyone who asked — because we do not have it.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything the app knows about you:

  • Check-ins, situations, and journal entries.
  • Goals, milestones, habits, and habit logs.
  • Activities, PQ Reps, reflections, and board reviews.
  • Your coaching conversations.
  • Photos you choose to add to your own collection.
  • Your settings and preferences.

This is stored in a local database inside the app’s private storage area, which other apps cannot read. It is protected by iOS Data Protection, so it is encrypted whenever your iPhone is locked. Your most sensitive free text — situations, journal entries, coaching conversations, and reflections — is additionally encrypted field by field with AES-GCM, using a key generated on your device and held in the iOS Keychain. That key is not derived from anything we know, is not contained in the app you downloaded, and exists nowhere else.

You can also require Face ID, or your passcode, to open the app — in Settings.

The coach runs on your iPhone

Coaching replies, reflections, and analysis are generated by Apple’s on-device foundation model, which is part of iOS and runs on the phone itself. What you write is handed to that model on the device and is not transmitted anywhere.

NovaPath Coach does not use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other AI provider, and contains no API key or network code for doing so. There is deliberately no “cloud fallback”: on an iPhone that cannot run the on-device model, the coaching features say so rather than quietly sending what you wrote to a company on the internet. On-device AI requires iOS 26 or later on Apple-Intelligence-capable hardware; everything else in the app works on any supported iPhone.

iCloud backup is your choice

By default, your entries are excluded from your iPhone’s iCloud backup, so no copy of them leaves the device at all. Photos you import are excluded too.

You can turn backup on in Settings if you would rather be able to restore your entries onto a new iPhone. Apple encrypts that backup and we never receive it — but it is a copy leaving this device, so it is your decision to make deliberately rather than something that happens to you by default.

The trade-off runs both ways, and it is worth being blunt about: with backup off, losing or erasing your iPhone means your entries are gone permanently. There is no copy for us, for Apple, or for anyone to restore.

Does the app use the internet at all?

The app works fully with no connection, including in airplane mode. It does not need the network to open, to save anything, or to coach you.

Two things can involve the network. Neither carries anything about you, and the app has no way to send your entries anywhere at all — there is no share, export, or upload path for them in the app:

  • Links you tap. The Resources section links to pages we do not control — YouTube, the NHS, book publishers. Opening one is the same as typing the address yourself; nothing about you is attached.
  • Subscriptions. If you subscribe, Apple handles the purchase through the App Store. We never see your payment details; Apple tells us only whether a subscription is active.

Third parties

There are none. NovaPath Coach has no analytics provider, no advertising network, no crash-reporting service, no cloud storage provider, and no AI provider. We do not sell your data, we do not share it, and we hold no data-processing agreements, because there is no data flowing anywhere to cover.

Apple, as the App Store operator, handles your download, any purchase, and — if you enable it — your device backup, independently of us and under Apple’s own privacy policy. If you have turned on sharing diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may make anonymised crash reports available to us. Those describe where the app stopped working; they contain none of your entries.

Your data, on your terms

  • Delete — Settings → Delete All My Data removes everything the app holds, immediately and permanently. Deleting the app does the same. Either way there is nothing for us to restore, because we never had a copy.
  • Correct — you can edit or delete any individual entry, goal, or habit at any time.
  • Keep a copy — your entries live on your device; if you want them recoverable, enable iCloud backup as described above.

Rights of access, portability, correction, and erasure under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none, so these are things you exercise directly on your own device rather than by asking us. If you would like that confirmed in writing, or have any other privacy question, write to support@rifglow.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Please do not paste your entries into a support email. We have no access to them and do not need them in order to help.

How long it is kept

For as long as you keep it. Your content stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. We keep nothing, so there is no retention period on our side and no backups of ours to roll off.

Children

NovaPath Coach is rated 17+ and is not intended for children. Since we collect nothing, we hold no data about anyone, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and want the app’s data removed from a device, deleting it in Settings or removing the app is sufficient.

International transfers

None. Your content does not leave your device, so there is no transfer of it to any country.

Changes

If a future version of NovaPath Coach ever changes how data is handled — for example by adding an optional sync feature — we will say so in the app before that version stores anything differently, and it would be something you turn on rather than something that happens to you.
